The Green Breeze

Located on the outskirts of Pune near Pashan Hill, Green Breeze House is conceived as a home that responds closely to its landscape & climate context. The house opens toward the rear, framing uninterrupted views of the hill, while the southern road-facing facade is layered with wooden jali and pivoting louvres, creating privacy without blocking light and breeze. This screen becomes both a climactic device and a modern contemporary interpretation of traditional Indian architecture.

The east and west sides remain solid in exposed concrete, protecting the house from neighbouring plots and directing focus inward and toward the distant landscape.

At its heart, a double-height central courtyard with two trees becomes the soul of the home. It allows wind, light, and greenery to flow through everyday spaces. The house balances modern expression with rooted living, creating a calm, breathable environment deeply connected to nature.
