The Courtyard House

Located in Nanded City, Pune, this bungalow is set on a generous plot of approximately 10,000 sq ft and is designed to respond to its scenic surroundings. The house accommodates four bedrooms along with a living room, kitchen, and a dedicated home theatre, creating a comfortable setting for both everyday living and leisure.

The house is organized around a central courtyard that becomes the heart of the home. This open space allows natural light and ventilation to flow through the interiors while creating a calm, green pause within the built form. The courtyard visually connects different spaces of the house and enhances the feeling of openness throughout.

The form of the house is shaped by sloping roofs that help the structure blend naturally with the landscape while also responding to the region’s climate. Large openings and framed windows capture long-distance views of the surrounding hills.

A palette of plastered surfaces, natural stone, and aluminium screens adds depth to the elevation while providing shading and privacy, creating a home closely connected to its natural setting.
