The Boiphilic Oasis
In crafting ‘The Biophilic Oasis,’ the project unfolded as a response to a unique challenge where the client presented only functional requirements, allowing minimal expectations for design excellence. Often, offices catering to post-sales formalities and facilities management for builders overlook design aspects, creating a void that ‘The Biophilic Oasis’ seeks to fill. The concept draws inspiration from the layout, strategically placing enclosed areas at the periphery to free up the central courtyard for open workstations. The curvilinear geometry, adorned with flying arches, gracefully delineates the boundary between the central courtyard and peripheral enclosed spaces, offering a dynamic spatial experience.
Amidst the challenge of executing the project in an under-construction building with bare shell floors, ‘The Biophilic Oasis’ emerged as a testament to efficient design and timely execution, completing the 2000 sq. ft. area within a tight 60-day timeframe. The material palette, characterised by muted colour tones, fosters a tranquil ambience where no single element dominates. Introducing greenery in the central space enhances openness, seamlessly integrating nature into the workspace. The layout accommodates varied workstation options, allowing the office staff to choose between dense greenery or elevated positions with city views. The subtle curvilinear geometry with arches breaks the rigidity of the regular functional layout, promoting a fluid and dynamic environment. Special spaces like the director’s cabin and VIP lounge are meticulously designed to ensure utmost privacy and excellent light conditions within ‘The Biophilic Oasis.’
